This is My Capsule Kitchen’s (referred to as “we”, “our” and “us”) privacy policy and was last updated 24 May 2018.

By using the website or signing up to the newsletter, you are taken to have read, and agreed to the collection, use, disclosure and handling of your personal information, in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We may change or withdraw sections of this Privacy Policy at any time.

2. What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We may collect and process personal information about you so that we can answer your enquiries, provide you with services or improve the services we offer you. These are the ways in which we collect your personal information:
- Information, such as your name, mobile number, email address and home address (including information that you provide by filling in forms on the website). This includes information provided at the time of requesting further information and services. We may also ask you for personal information if you report a problem with the website.
- If you contact us, we may keep a record of our correspondence.
- Although you do not need to respond to them, we may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes and to improve our business.
- Details of your visits to the website including, but not limited to, traffic data and location data.
- If we do not collect this personal information from you, we may not be able to provide you with the services or the assistance you have requested.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Contact forms
We keep contact form submissions for a certain period for customer service purposes, but we do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes.
Newsletter
When you sign up to our newsletter we will collect your name and email address. This will only be used to send you the content you agreed to.
Cookies
Cookies are delicious sweet snacks to have with your afternoon cuppa… Nah, just kidding ;). Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by online service providers in order to (for example) make their websites or services work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
We currently don’t use any website analytics but may do so in future and will update the privacy policy accordingly.
3. How does My Capsule Kitchen use your personal information?
These are ways that we may use your personal information:
- To send you the newsletter with free information and guidance, as you have requested.
- To provide you with information on products or services that you request from us.
- To ensure that content from the website is presented effectively for you and for your device.
- To provide you with information about products and services, updates on our business, offers, which we believe may be of interest to you. If we do use your personal information in these ways, we will always give you the opportunity to request that your information not be used for further direct marketing in the future.
- To notify you about changes to our business and website.
4. Who we share your data with
If you have signed up for our newsletter your email address and name is shared with the email list service provider, currently that is mailchimp.
We may choose to disclose information held about you to public authorities, our legal representatives or other concerned parties, in special circumstances where, either:
- We have reason to believe that disclosing your personal information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against anyone damaging, injuring, or interfering (intentionally or unintentionally) with our rights or property, users or anyone else who could be harmed by such activities; or
- We believe, in good faith, that the law requires disclosure.
5. How long we retain your data
We will only keep your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
Your name and email address after a newsletter sign up is kept until you choose to unsubscribe. You can do so at any time at the bottom of each newsletter. Contact form entries are kept for six months and analytics records for a year
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
6. What rights you have over your data
You can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
7. Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
8. Security of your personal information

No data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed as totally secure. Whilst we strive to protect such information, we do not warrant and cannot ensure the security of information which you transmit to us. Accordingly, any information which you transmit to us is transmitted at your own risk.
